As the global workforce is increasingly feminized and ageing, growing numbers of women are going through menopause at work. Now a hot topic in the popular media and employer circles in some countries, academics and practitioners are generating an evidence base into women’s experiences of menopause at work. In this presentation, I will first give an overview of insights to date, focusing particular attention on how features of diverse work environments are reported to ameliorate or exacerbate menopausal symptom experience. Second, I will highlight important directions for future research and recommendations for employers and organizations on how best to support women through menopause at work.
