Presentation Overview
Vulvovaginal symptoms in menopausal patients may arise from GSM, but it’s essential to assess for a genital skin condition before prescribing topical estrogen. Using a case-based approach, this talk begins with lichen sclerosus as the most common and familiar chronic dermatosis. It then explores erosive lichen planus and cutaneous candidiasis – these diagnoses may occur on their own or be comorbid with lichen sclerosus. Each vignette illustrates the condition with clinical and histopathologic images and provides a management framework with indications for referral.
