Professor Ada Cheung 

Endocrinologist and Clinician Scientist, University of Melbourne; Trans Health Research Group Lead 

Professor Ada Cheung is an endocrinologist and clinician scientist at the University of Melbourne, where she leads the Trans Health Research Group. She leads world-leading programs integrating clinical trials and large population studies to advance understanding of gender affirming hormone therapy and improve healthcare delivery and mental health, developed in close partnership with trans communities – for which she has been awarded the GLOBE LGBT Ally of the Year. An avid science communicator, Prof Cheung works with mainstream media, policymakers, clinicians and sporting bodies internationally to support evidence-based transgender health and inclusion. Her research excellence, commitment to gender equity and public engagement have been recognised with the 2025 Victorian Tall Poppy Scientist of the Year award and induction into the Victorian Honour Roll of Women as a Change Agent.
