Biography
Dr James Brown is a gynaecologist and clinical co-lead of the South-West Specialist Menopause Service; providing clinical support to GP specialists through Australia’s first 100% virtual menopause hub. He also provides menopause, IVF and general gynaecology services through WHRIA in the Sydney CBD. Currently, he is completing his PhD in Health Economics through the Centre for Health Economics Research and Evaluation (CHERE) at the University of Technology Sydney – and is employed as a Senior Lecturer with Western Sydney University.
Abstract
Why is menopause suddenly the ‘hot’ thing? The recent alignment of patient advocacy and governmental support seldom happens in women’s health. This talk will explore the social, economic, and political factors that has led to the recent groundswell of support for all things menopause.
