Professor Marie Bismark

Professor Marie Bismark is a public health physician, health lawyer, and advanced trainee in psychiatry. Her research at the University of Melbourne focuses on the interface between clinician wellbeing, patient safety, and the regulation of health practitioners. Marie is completing her psychiatry training at The Royal Melbourne Hospital.

She is an experienced company director, serving on the boards of several large health sector organisations, including Summerset aged care and The Royal Women’s. Marie has previously completed a Harkness Fellowship at Harvard University and has been named as one the AFR 100 Women of Influence for her contribution to public policy in Australia. Marie is the lead author of a new book: “Experiences of Health Workers in the Pandemic: In their Own Words”.
